{what a girl wants}

As you {may} know, we recently moved. This has struck a 'create / decor / organize' nerve in me. I'm anxious to get painting. After finding a couple of colors and splashing them around our little space, we may have found the paint. But, on to more depth. What I really want....is wallpaper! I know, right?! Crazy. Hello....we rent. One could say, "It's not happening. Be happy that you can paint". But, I personally don't like that answer.

Last week, I scouted out contact paper, thinking I could make a temporary solution. All I want to know, is where was I when the Tempaper buzz was going around?! Apparently not within ear shot. Fear not though, I stumbled upon this ideal solution (particularly for renters). Tempaper offers a variety of removable / temporary paper (thus the name)!!!! Yay for us. I saw some other temporary papers from a few locations, but not nearly the stock options.

I'm seeing some design in my near future. Hmm. Though the selection is limited, I will not push my luck any further and will be happy with the choices.

What do you think?! Should we be so daring?

{weekend project}

Well, as you can see {below} we still have piles in every random corner imaginable. Guess that's what comes with downsizing, but it's starting to feel like home!

One of my projects, this weekend, included lining cupboards with paper. It's hard to tell due to the flash on my camera, but the color is olive. I actually picked up this paper when we lived in Alaska. Never got around to using it and since the kitchen shelves needed some help, this was a perfect use.

I'm hoping this week is a little "kinder" on me. Work is a whirl right now and I'm down right sick of living in clutter. That being said, my motivation is sporatic. We leave for Boise this Thursday and I think the much needed vacation will be just the trick!

Happy Sunday!!

{dreaming...again}

Today we're signing our lease and getting ready for the big move this week. Down-sizing is overwhelming, but at the same time liberating. Why worry about that though, when I can get sucked into these lovely pics! Of course...don't you know that it's research for our new place?! :) Loving grey {as always}....

and lately, I've been craving blue, seafoam green...or something random like that for our kitchen. Hmm. Don't know why - but it's in the front of my mind. Should I act on it?

What I really should be focused on {besides the move and all} is throwing a lovely picnic!!! Wouldn't this be a perfect dream for this long weekend?!

{time to love}

I am in LOVE with these doily clocks by Brenda Rose. Thanks to a daily inspiration: Down and Out Chic...I happened upon this fabulous find which she posted the other day. Hopefully one of these beauties will be gracing our new place {thanks Mister}.

{photos from here. inspiration from HERE}

**these clocks did seem familiar to me, so if you had posted them too, feel free to let me know and I'll link back to you, as well.

{new home inspiration}

Wouldn't mind taking some inspiration from this room! Even Mister was looking at it last night and said, "wow - could we do something like that in our new place?" I like where his head is! {And check out the paint color!} Hmm...Well, don't really have any furniture that inspires the above, but if that's what Mister wants....{hehe}

{fresh paint in grey?}

We're moving! YAY! I'm so excited for the change, but the task ahead of us is also quite overwhilming. We have 1 1/2 weeks to downsize our lives from a current 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath to a 1 bedroom, 1 bath. Some stuff is destined for storage, other things, the trash, and other things donantion. But...why focus on that, when I can focus on paint colors! :) I am afterall, going to be painting. No matter how I try to 'break free', I constantly come back to the grey color featured above. Oh, the decisions!

{our kitchen}

Anthony and I have yet to take any real photos of our new place...This is in part because, I'd be the only one to even think of it. Why the pics? Well...to share with you all of course! This seems like it would be an easy feat, but alas, I can't find my camera. (shh.) I managed to take a couple of pics with my phone and only took some of the kitchen. So, for now, here are a few of our kitchen.

I was supposed to get to the boxes today as I mentioned earlier...honestly, I made it through two. AND, I didn't even empty them. I was so excited by the memories inside, that I just went through the material, and packed it nicely back up. Hmm. Not the point. But, I'm happy. And ultimately, still lacking a camera. SO...I'll be posting more pics soon, but here's our kitchen for now!

{a NEW start}

Well, I've started a new blog. It's funny really. I love writing, and therefore have found a love for blogging...but, for those of you who faithfully follow my other blog, you will note that I fail to be consistant (primarily because I've been without internet, but that's besides the point). Don't get me wrong. I have much to say...but, though I love the other blog - it's purpose is for things revolving around the kitchen. And, though most of one's life revolves around the kitchen, I wanted to be able to express more day-to-day things with my friends, family and anyone who was just bored and looking for something to read.

THEREFORE, I commenced this new blog. I really do see life as an adventure. The adventure can be seen in the season or more simply in one tiny moment of a larger season.

What season am I in? Good question. It's a season of "new" and dare I say change. I'm a new wife, in a new city, starting (hopefully soon) a new job, looking for a new church, while finding parking on a new street. (Which might not seem that big of deal, but in Seattle...parking is a whole "thing" in and of itself.) Shall I go on? I'm decorating a new home and cooking in a new kitchen...I believe the point is taken.
I'm not complaining...it's all quite fun and yes, adventurous. So, to connect this crazy life with you, this blog has been started. Yes, I have facebook, myspace and even plain old email, and now this!

What am I facing today?

Exactly! So...on with the task at hand.
à la prochaine! (Till next time!)
